Meet the People of Depot Park

Scroll down this list of Town officials, FBDP staff and others who are administering the Bedford Depot Park project.

 

Bedford's Board of Selectmen is the Town's highest-ranking governmental body. The Selectmen formally placed the Depot Park project into motion on September 26, 1994.

Former selectman Joe Piantedosi is liaison to the Friends and has been a key participant in the Depot Park project from the start. In addition to his Bedford municipal duties, Joe is Director of Plant and Facilities for the Town of Andover.

Richard Warrington

Richard Warrington is Bedford's Director of Public Works. He has direct oversight of the Depot Park project. His office may be reached at 781-275-7605.

 

Jim Shea is president of the non-profit Friends of Bedford Depot Park and is chairman of its Board of Directors. He also publishes the organization's newsletter. Jim is a native of Bedford and works in local television as a videotape editor.

 

 


Barry Sampson

Barry Sampson is Vice President of the Friends. He has contributed countless hours to Project 6211, the restoration of the Budd Car now at Depot Park. Barry is retired from nearly 30 years of employment at United Parcel Service.

 


George Dalrymple has been the organziation's Secretary-Treasurer since 1995. He is a retired electrical engineer from M.I.T. and is involved in several town and civic activities.

Neil Leary

Neil Leary is the Bedford Historic Presevation Commission's representative on the FBDP Board of Directors. He is a former vice president of the organization. Neil plans excursions to tourist railways for the group. He's a retired quality control engineer.


John Filios serves on the FBDP Board of Directors as a representative of the Bedford Chamber of Commerce. Also, he is a member of the Bedford Historic Preservation Commission. John is now retired from the Air Force but keeps very active. He helped restore Bedford Depot's train order signals by fabricting replicas of the blades that were missing.

Dan O'Brien

 

 

Dan O'Brien is our Project 6211 consultant. He provides valuable professional advice about the rail car to aid in its cosmetic restoration. Dan once worked on Budd Rail Diesel Cars while an employee of the Boston & Maine Railroad. He is now in a supervisory maintenance position with Amtrak.


Arthur Ellis was the Friend's first vice president and served for two terms. He constructed the initial conceptual model of the park that was used to build interest in the project. Art is a retired engineer from Raytheon Corporation and is an avid HO-scale model railroader.
